Being a reflective learner

This lesson was about being a reflective learner.

Being reflective means looking back at our work and making improvements.

First we sketched a butterfly. We looked at photograph of a butterfly from the internet and tried our best to draw one in the top corner.

Next we compared our picture with the photograph and tried to see some things we could improve on. This was where we were being reflective.

The next time, we asked our partners and classmates to give us some feedback. They told us things like "make the wings sharper" or "the tail is too long". We listened to their advice and tried again.

Finally, it was time to draw in our last square. This was to be our final copy so we used colour. We talked afterwards about how it is important to be reflective in our learning so we can always be improving. We always talked about teachers and adults can be reflective too.
